D5.4 Social Impact - EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This social impact assessment of MADRAS is twofold. On the one hand, it provides outcomes from analysing ethics compliance and responsible research in MADRAS research activities. On the other hand, it focuses on assessing acceptability, data protection and proportionality in the MADRAS-based biometric photosensor. The latest assessment, even though applied to a very preliminary prototype of the system with limited integration, offers outcomes reflecting a privacy-by-design approach to the system. Moreover, it shows high acceptability and usability. Lastly, the overall proportionality analysis detects the need for security privacy of individuals in the system adoption. Recommendations are oriented towards reaching this balance.
