MADRAS has enabled the future market deployment of flexible and wearable OLAE-based products, guaranteeing the use of industrially and environmentally sustainable materials and processes that are attractive to the market for their advanced functionalities, robustness, durability and safety.
During the project, a set of new materials has been used as inks for the development of flexible OLAE products has been produced with improved electrical and optical properties compared with current materials.
These materials, combined with the benefits brought by injection moulding, thermoforming and printed electronics, have built on an industrially scalable manufacturing methodology to improve OLAE-devices durability by encapsulation, reducing device manufacturing costs and increasing productivity rates.
The innovative technology developed during the project has been demonstrated and implemented into two different demonstrators of plastic-embedded printed electronics.
